Install the Diecast-o-meter Helper
The free helper reads eBay sold prices for your price checks, in your own browser. It never buys, bids or posts anything.
Works on a computer in Chrome, Edge, Brave, Opera and other Chromium browsers.
Install it by hand
The helper is waiting for Chrome Web Store review. Until then, install it by hand — it takes about a minute.
- 1
Download and unzip
Download the zip, then unzip it: on Windows right-click → “Extract All…”, on a Mac double-click it. Move the folder somewhere it can stay, like Documents — the browser keeps using it from there.
- 2
Open the extensions page
Type chrome://extensions in the address bar and press Enter. In Edge it’s edge://extensions, in Brave brave://extensions.
- 3
Turn on Developer mode
Switch on “Developer mode” — top right in Chrome and Brave, in the left menu in Edge.
- 4
Load the folder
Click “Load unpacked” and choose the unzipped folder (the one with manifest.json inside). “Diecast-o-meter Helper” appears in the list.
- 5
Check it’s connected
Open Diecast-o-meter (or reload its tab) and go to Settings → eBay: it says “Connected”. Stay signed in to eBay in the same browser.
Something not working?
- Not connected: reload the Diecast-o-meter tab, and check the helper is switched on in chrome://extensions.
- Installed by hand, the helper doesn’t update itself. When a new version is out, download it again, replace the folder’s contents and press the reload arrow on the helper’s card in chrome://extensions.
- Some browsers warn about extensions in Developer mode when they start. That’s expected for hand-installed extensions — close the warning, don’t disable the helper.
